Union Catholic lost to Cranford  back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Vikings walked away with  a   6-3  win over the Cougars. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Vikings.
 Ryan Williams tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  hit and  allowing only  one  earned run over five innings pitched.
 At the plate, Union Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Luiggi Sacca, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.  Greg Viloria was another,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Union Catholic  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cranford struck out seven times.
Union Catholic's record now sits at 2-0. As for Cranford, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 2-1.
 Coming up, Union Catholic will venture away from home to  take on New Providence  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Cranford, they will host Scotch Plains-Fanwood  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
