West Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brighton Cardinals.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-13.
Brighton found their leader in underclassman Briley Bennett, who had five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Bennett.
West Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Brighton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
West Carroll will challenge Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Riverside will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something West Carroll surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brighton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss vs. Crockett County on the 28th.
