Volleyball Recap: Franklin Central Starts Season with Loss at Home

Franklin Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Roncalli Royals on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Flashes in their meetings with the Royals: they've now lost nine in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-11, 25-19.

Ryelle Koomler paced Franklin Central's offense, picking up seven kills. Koomler got some help from Emily Williams and her 25 assists.

Roncalli can attribute much of their success to Reagan Turk, who had 14 digs and three assists.

Franklin Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Perry Meridian on the 20th. As for Roncalli, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Lawrence North on the 19th.
