You nominate, we decide...who had Ohio's best team performance last week?

MaxPreps is proud to announce that we will again sponsor a team of the week during the 2018-19 school year.

How does it work?

Each week during the season (regular and post), there will be a fan-generated contest to nominate weekly winners. Each winning team (boys and girls) will receive an award (certificates).

Football, girls and boys soccer, boys and girls golf, field hockey, girls tennis, boys and girls cross country and volleyball teams are eligible for the award in the fall.

To nominate a team, email information to Eric Frantz at efrantz@maxpreps.com. Please include the team, gender and why they are worthy. Winners will be selected from the nominations and announced every Thursday.

Week 40 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Mason Tennis
The Comets won the Division I Ohio Tennis Coaches Association team title with 3-1 wins over New Albany and University School.

GIRLS: Mechanicsburg Softball
Despite having zero seniors on the roster, the Indians beat Minster 8-4 in a Division IV regional final to punch the program’s first state tournament ticket. Mechanicsburg is ranked No. 17 in Ohio (regardless of division) in the overall MaxPreps Computer Rankings.

Week 1 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Lucas Football
The Cubs shut out Danville 22-0 for their first win in the series since 1991. Danville has made the playoffs seven years in a row and was a D-VII state semifinalist last year. Lucas has reached the postseason four years in a row.

GIRLS: Lakota East (Liberty Township) Cross Country
The Thunderhawks won their first two meets of the year with impressive victories at the OHSAA Early Season Invitational and at the Lakota East Fall Classic. LE won the OHSAA Early Season Division I meet by 44 points over runner-up Hilliard Davidson. LE beat Turpin 31-44 to win the Fall Classic. Turpin won the OHSAA Early Season D-II title.

Week 2 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Groveport-Madison Football
The Cruisers rallied from a 14-0 first half deficit to snap a 12-game losing streak with a 28-14 win over Hamilton Township. Jashaun McGraw rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries, Jalil Underdown added 82 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries and Naseem Bowers returned a punt 44 yards for a touchdown. Groveport held HT to 19 yards of offense in the second half.

GIRLS: Bishop Rosecrans (Zanesville) Girls Soccer
The Bishops opened the season 6-0-1. Ranked No 5. in the first OSSCA D-III state poll, Rosecrans is 2-0-1 against D-I opponents and 2-0 against D-II schools.

Week 3 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: London Football
The Red Raiders rolled in a meeting of undefeated football teams with a 57-7 win over Washington Courthouse. Washington entered the game averaging 63 points per game. London ran for 412 yards and scored eight rushing touchdowns - three each by K.J. Price and Juane Gardner and two by Brennan Spiess. London scored five second quarter touchdowns to blow open the game and enter halftime up 43-0.

GIRLS: Columbus Academy (Gahanna) Field Hockey
The Vikings beat Granville and Hartley 9-0 and 10-0 to improve to 7-0. CA has outscored opponents 56-0 this season.

Week 4 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Carroll (Dayton) Football
A year after going 1-9, the Patriots improved to 4-0 last week with a 37-28 win over McNicholas. Carroll, which had lost nine straight entering the season, has scored 153 points in four games after scoring 111 all last season. The Patriots have also allowed just 65 points (16 per game) after allowing 345 in 10 games last year (34.5 average).

GIRLS: St. Henry Volleyball
The Redskins, ranked No. 1 in the OHSVCA D-IV state poll, won their 14th straight match and avenged their only loss with a 3-0 win over Versailles (No. 8 in D-III) in a Midwest Athletic Conference clash. St. Henry also beat New Bremen, ranked No. 2 in D-IV, 3-1 in a MAC game. Over the weekend, the Redskins swept Bath, North Union and Bryan (all 2-0 matches) to win the Bath OIO Tournament.

Week 5 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: St. Charles (Columbus) Golf
The Cardinals shot a 297 to win their 11th straight Central Catholic League title at the postseason tournament. St. Charles shot 293 to win the preseason tournament as well.

GIRLS: Bellbrook Volleyball
The Golden Eagles claimed their fifth straight Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division title with road wins at Brookville and Oakwood. The victories improved Bellbrook to 57-4 in its last 61 league games. The Golden Eagles are ranked fourth in the most recent OHSVCA D-II Coaches Poll.


Week 6 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Graham Local (St. Paris) Golf
The Falcons shot a 334 at Glenview Golf Course to claim the program's first ever sectional golf title. Graham finished 16 strokes ahead of runner-up Anna two take home the D-II hardware.

The Rams played played three games in four days and went 2-0-1 to remain unbeaten on the season (11-0-2). Madison beat Lexington and Ontario and tied Anthony Wayne. The Rams have outscored opponents 61-8 this season and won the Ohio Cardinal Conference title. Madison allowed one goal in six OCC games.

The Warriors took control of the Licking County League standings with a three-set win at state-ranked and defending LCL champ Granville. After suffering back-to-back losses, Watkins has won eight straight and is 16-3.


Week 7 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Newton Local (Pleasant Hill) Golf
The Indians rallied from a seven-stroke deficit after nine holes to claim the program's first Division III District title with a one-stroke win over Fort Loramie at Beavercreek Gold Club. It is the first time Newton, whcih shot 343, has advanced to state. Senior Chet Jamison shot a blistering 33 on his final nine holes to claim medalist honors with a 73.

GIRLS: Peebles Soccer
The Indians finished the regular season 11-2-2 and set a school record with 104 goals. Lilly Gray leads the charge with 42 goals (and 17 assists), while Kristen Bradford has chipped in 23 goals (and 13 assists). Kierra Stone (48 points), Breauna Shoemaker (40 points) and Arayha West (28 points/team-high 22 assists) have also contributed heavily to the offensive output.


Week 8 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


GIRLS: Vanlue Volleyball
The Wildcats beat Lima Perry 3-0 in the regular season finale to finish with 11 wins, which is the most for the program in 41 years. Vanlue's 11-11 record is also the first time since 1977 that a Wildcats team finished with double-digit wins.

GIRLS: Memorial (St. Marys) Soccer
Under the direction of new head coach Nick Wilson, the Lady Roughriders took down undefeated Lima Shawnee on Oct. 4 in a game rescheduled due to a flooded field. St. Marys beat Shawnee 2-1 to move into a first-place tie in the Western Buckeye League and then won their first outright title in 10 years with a 4-2 comeback win over defending Wapakoneta.



Week 9 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Dublin Jerome Golf
The Celtics claimed the program's eighth state title and second in a row with a 25-stroke victory in Division I. Jerome, which held a five-stroke lead after the first day, wrapped the two-day event by shooting a 625 at Ohio State's Scarlett Course.

The Blazers dominated the D-II girls state tournament. Junior Nicole Gillinov, a three-time finalist, won her second straight title with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 victory over sophomore Sydni Ratliff from Gahanna Columbus Academy. In doubles action, the HB duo of Isabellla Daverio and Rebecca Wolf defeated teammates, junior Isabella Godsick and senior Megan Qiang, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 in the final. Godsick and Qiang were the defending state champions.

BOYS: Madison (Middletown) Football
A year after earning the program's first postseason berth and winning a regional title, the Mohawks capped their first undefeated season with a 64-0 win over Waynesville. Madison outscored its opponents 450-45 this year and recorded six shutouts. The Mohawks outscored their six SWBL Buckeye Division foes 320-22.

GIRLS: Padua Franciscan (Parma) Volleyball
The Bruins, two-time defending D-II state champions (five titles in last 10 years), won a Division I district title with a 3-1 victory over Wadsworth. Padua moved up a classification this year due to competitive balance. Padua (24-1) is currently ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 5 nationally according to the MaxPreps Computer Rankings. The Bruins only lost three sets in the regular season (two came in the team's only loss to nationally-ranked Louisville Mercy).

Week 11 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Buckeye (Medina) Football
The Bucks rallied from a 25-21 deficit with 1:53 to go to captured the proram's first postseason win in 10 trips with a 28-25 victory over Alliance in a Division III regional quarterfinal. The decisive score came when quarterback Jacob Doerge hit Anthony Watkins for a 64-yard touchdown pass. The screen pass was Watkins only reception of the evening and Doerge's only completion (three attempts).

GIRLS: Solon Volleyball
Despite not winning a league title this season, the Comets could win the state championship. Solon captured it's first regional title since 2006 with a 3-1 win over Massillon Jackson in D-I. Also beat Nordonia in the district finals and Riverside in the regional semis. Rides a nine-match win streak into Friday's semifinal with Parma Padua Franciscan.

Week 12 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Summit Country Day (Cincinnati) Day Soccer
The Silver Knights won their sixth state title in seven years and a record fourth straight with a 4-0 win over Revere in the D-II state final. Due to competitive balance, Summit bumped up a division this season after playing in D-III in all its previous seasons. The Silver Knights have won a record 29-straight postseason games and own seven state titles overall. Summit's four goals ties a D-II state final record.

GIRLS: Beavercreek Soccer
The Beavers recorded one of the best seasons in state history. Creek became the third team ever to finish 24-0-0 and captured the program's first state title with a 4-2 win over Strongsville in the D-I state final. The Beavers led 4-0 at half. Creek finished with 19 shutouts and had 14 consecutive at one point. Both tallies are good for second most in state history. The Beavers also finished with 140 goals, which also ranks second in state history.

Week 13 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Fort Loramie Football
Strapped with an athletic tradition that includes multiple state titles in boys basketball (three) and baseball (three), the Redskins captured the program's first regional title in football with a 48-20 win over Convoy Crestview in Division VII. The game was tied 14-14 at halftime. The Redskins are riding a 12-game win streak since losing to defending state champion Minster in Week 1.

GIRLS: Holy Name (Parma Heights) Volleyball
The Green Wave advanced to the volleyball state tournament for the first time since 1982 and won the program;s first state title with a four-set win over Fenwick (semis) and a five-set win over Hartley (final). It was the school's first state title in any sports since 2006 (girls soccer). Holy Name finished 26-3.

Week 14 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Johnstown-Monroe Football
The Johnnies dispatched defending D-V state champion Wheelersburg and earned the program's first trip to the state football final with a 32-14 win in the state semifinals. Johnstown ran for 349 yards and completed its lone pass attempt.

BOYS: Girard Football
The Indians punched the program's first ticket to the state football finals with a 53-48 shootout win over Licking Valley in a D-IV state semifinal.



Week 15 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Kenston (Chagrin Falls) Football
The Bombers won the program's first state title in their third state final appearance and first since 1995 with a convincing 42-6 victory over Alter in the Division III final. Kenston, which trailed 6-0 in the first quarter, was led by junior quarterback Jon Tomcufcik (three touchdown passes), junior running back Jack Porter (three rushing touchdowns) and senior receiver Bransen Stanley (two touchdown receptions). Senior kicker Anna Sanders went 6-for-6 on PATs and became the first female to score a point in an OHSAA state football final. Kenston averaged 40.3 points per game this season and scored 40 or more in four of five playoff games.

BOYS: St. Edward (Lakewood) Football
The Eagles captured the fourth state title in program history (all since 2010) with a stunning 24-10 win over nationally-ranked and undefeated Colerain in the D-I final. The Cardinals, which entered ranked No. 16 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25, had won only two games by less than 23 points all season. St. Edward trailed 10-7 at half. Eagles senior quarterback Garrett Dzuro connected with senior receiver and Michigan recruit Quintel Kent for third and fourth quarter touchdowns. St. Edward, which opened the season 0-2, opened the playoffs by avenging a Week 10 loss to rival St. Ignatius. The Eagles, seeded seventh in Region 1, also beat Euclid, Mentor and Olentangy Liberty in the postseason.

Week 16 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Elder (Cincinnati) Basketball
The Panthers rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to beat longtime neighborhood rival and host Western Hills 56-51 for head coach Joe Schoenfeld's 400th career victory (all at Elder). Schoenfeld is 400-233 in 27-plus years at Elder and has led the Panthers to two state finals. Elder was the OHSAA D-I state champion in 1993.

GIRLS: Wadsworth Basketball
Grizzlies won a an early season showdown of Northeast heavyweights with Stow (53-43) and also added double-digit wins over Cuyahoga Falls and North Royalton to improve to 5-0.

Week 17 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Westerville Central Bowling
The Warhawks won the 32-team Pioneer Baker Bash in Columbus. WC finished first after the qualifying rounds and then won all three bracketed matches 2-0. In the finals the Warhawks edged runner-up Ashland 245-244 in the first game before winning the second 221-175.

GIRLS: North (Eastlake) Basketball
The Rangers improved to 9-0 with road wins over Euclid and Chardon. Ranked No. 6 in the state, North is averaging 67 points per game and has won every contest by double-digits.

Week 18/19 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Wadsworth Wrestling
The Grizzlies captured the title at the distinguished Medina Invitational with a 211-188 win over Davison (MI). Wadsworth had six placers, including three champions - Luke Baughman (138), Michael North (145) and Dom Loparo (170).

GIRLS: Carroll (Dayton) Basketball
The Patriots played four games in eight days, won the Kings Holiday Classic and improved to 11-0 with wins over Valley View, Kings, McNicholas and Sheridan. Carroll is ranked No. 2 in the overall MaxPreps Ohio Girls Basketball Rankings (regardless of division) and is currently ranked No. 79 nationally. Junior Julia Keller is averaging 14.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks, while senior Elisabeth Bush is averaging 14/1 points (4.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists). Both rank among the Greater Catholic League Co-Ed Division's Top 5 in field goal percentage. Junior Allie Stefanek is averaging 8.8 points, 3.6 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 steals.

Week 20 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Marion Harding Bowling
The Presidents finished third after qualifying, but then knocked off the top two seeds (Westerville Central and Mentor, respectively) en route to winning the 26-team Ohio State Buckeye Classic title.

GIRLS: Fairmont (Kettering) Basketball
Since starting the season 1-3, the Firebirds have gone 7-1 and are riding a five-game win streak (beat Mason, Beavercreek, Tippecanoe, Toledo Notre Dame and Lebanon).  They're only loss during the run is a 35-34 double-OT setback at Mercy-McCauley.

Week 21 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Celina Basketball
The Bulldogs downed Bath 63-36 to claim the program's 1,000th win.

GIRLS: Lakota West (West Chester) Basketball
The Firebirds beat previously unbeaten and Greater Miami Conference mate Princeton 61-50 to secure head coach Andy Fishman his 400th career victory. Fishman becomes the 41st girls coach in state history to achieve that feat (according to the OHSAA). West is currently ranked 10th in the MaxPreps Ohio Computer Rankings (regardless of division). Princeton was ranked ninth. New rankings are released Friday. West has won 10 games in a row heading into this weekend's Classic in the Country.



Week 22 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Steele (Amherst) Ice Hockey
The Comets outlasted upset-mined North Olmsted 4-3 in OT to win the Southwestern Conference tournament for the second straight year. It is Steele's third SWC tournament title since 2000. The Comets are 22-2.

GIRLS: Beavercreek Basketball
After starting the season 4-6, Ed Zink's club has rattled off six straight wins, including a 57-44 road victory over previously unbeaten and No. 1 ranked (in D-II) Carroll. All six wins have been by double-digits. Other victims include Alter, Bellbrook, Tippecanoe, Northmont and Miamisburg.

Week 23 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Anna Basketball
The Rockets remained unbeaten (15-0) with wins over Russia, Houston and Lehman Catholic. Currently ranked No. 3 in the MaxPreps D-III Computer Rankings and No. 3 in the AP State Poll. Also ranked No. 26 overall in Ohio regardless of division according to the MP Computer Rankings.

GIRLS: Sheridan (Thornville) Gymnastics
The Generals won the Warhawk Invitational in Worthington for the fourth year in row. Sheridan produced four of the top five all-around performers and had athletes finish 1-3 in all four disciplines.

Week 24 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Aurora Wrestling
The Greenmen punched a ticket to their first OHSAA Team Wrestling State Tournament by winning the Region 11 title with victories over Harvey (63-6), Revere (65-9), Geneva (61-16) and Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (39-27). Earned the No. 2 seed at state.

GIRLS: Roger Bacon (Cincinnati) Basketball
The Spartans won at McNicholas to secure up the program's first Greater Catholic League Co-Ed Division North title since 2005. The Spartans are ranked second in the MaxPreps Division II Ohio Girls Computer Rankings and 24th overall regardless of division.

Week 25 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


The Tigers beat host Dunbar 74-56 to claim a share of the program's first Dayton City League title since 1953. Allen Lattimore had 29 points for Stivers, while Trevon Ellis had 10 points and 13 rebounds. The 1952-53 Stivers squad featured Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame players Jim Morgan (Louisville) and Gene Millard (Ohio State). 

BOYS: Genoa Area (Genoa) Wrestling
For the second-consecutive year, the Comets won the OHSAA Division III Dual Team Wrestling State Championshop. It is the program's third straight OHSAA wrestling tournament state title (2018 team, 2018 individual, 2019 team). In its quarterfinal match, Genoa defeated Marion Pleasant 72-6 to set OHSAA D-III dual team tournament records for the highest preliminary round point total and margin of victory. Genoa continued with a win over Rootstown 55-13 in the semifinals, and victory over Milan Edison 52-23 in the finals.

Week 26 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Fairfield Wrestling
The Indians snapped Mason's nine-year stranglehold on the Greater Miami Conference by winning the program's first conference title since 2001 with a 200-172 win over the Comets. 

The Arrows set three district relay records en route to winning the D-II district title at Bowling Green 442-255 over Napoleon. St. Ursula won the 200 free relay in 1:35.75, won the 200 medley relay in 1:46.49 and tied with Napoleon in the 400 free relay in 3:32.43.

Week 27 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: St. Xavier (Cincinnati) Swimming
Unprecedented. The Bombers won their 11th consecutive OHSAA Division I Swimming and Diving State Championship and 40th overall with a 310-240 victory over runner-up Sycamore. Yes…40.

GIRLS: Hawken (Gates Mills) Swimming
The Hawks captured their 21st straight – you read that right – OHSAA Swimming and Diving State Championship with a convincing 378-223.5 win over runner-up Hathaway Brown in Division II.



Week 28 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS & GIRLS: Memorial (St. Marys) Bowling
The Roughriders swept the D-II bowling state championships. The girls, who had all five bowlers finish in the Top 20 individually, avenged a runner-up finish at district by beating Bryan (3-1) in the final. It was the second state title for the program which also won in 2011.  The boys won their second state title in three years with a 3-0 victory over Jonathan Alder in the final.

The Bees captured the program's 16th straight state title with a 147.650-146.225 win over runner-up Sheridan.

Week 29 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: St. Ignatius (Cleveland) Ice Hockey
The Wildcats became the first program in state history to win four straight OHSAA state ice hockey titles with their 7-2 win over Dublin Jerome in the state final. Ignatius beat Sylvania Northview 7-0 in the semifinals.

GIRLS: Centerville Bowling
The Elks won the program's second state title by edging GWOC rival Beavercreek 159-150 in the fifth and final match of the state final. Centerville entered the bracketed-finals as the fifth seed but beat the No. 4 and 1 seeds, Seton and Stow, respecively, en route to the finals. It was the Elks 10th state tournament appearance.

Week 30 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


GIRLS: Africentric Early College (Columbus) Girls Basketball
The Nubians beat Waynesville 51-47 in the Division III state final to claim their seventh state title and move into a first place tie with Pickerington Central for all-time girls hoop championships. Africentric finished the season 28-0 and is ranked No. 4 in the MaxPreps Top 25 rankings. The state title was the Nubians second straight and third in four years. All seven titles have come since 2007.

GIRLS: Mount Notre Dame (Cincinnati) Girls Basketball
Hours after Africentric became the second team in state history to win seven girls basketball titles, the Cougars became the third. MND knocked off defending state champion Pickerington Central to win the D-I state title 52-31. Up just 32-29 entering the fourth quarter, the Cougars outscored the Tigers 20-2 over the final eight minutes. MND finishes 27-2 and is ranked No. 8 in the MaxPreps Top 25 rankings.

Week 31 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


The Crusaders wrapped up the first undefeated season in OHSAA Division I boys basketball history since Zanesville did so in 1995 with a 52-44 win over Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary in a state final pitting two defending state champions. SVSM, the two-time defending D-II state champion, bumped up to D-I this season due to competitive balance. Dating back to last season, Moeller has won 49-straight victories and back-to-back state titles. The Crusaders, who are 77-1 the last three seasons, last lost (39-38) to Massillon Jackson in the 2017 state final.

BOYS: Trotwood-Madison Basketball
The Rams finished 28-2 and won their first state championship in five trips to the state tournament with a 77-73 win over Columbus South in the D-II state final. They beat Akron Buchtel 102-71 in the semifinals. Trotwood scored 3,015 points this season, which is the most in OHSAA history (by nearly 400 points).

Week 32 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Butler (Vandalia) Baseball
The Aviators beat Fairborn 12-2 to provide head coach Trent Dues career win No. 500. Dues tweeted shortly afterwards: "The best part about 500 is the fact that my assistant coaches of Scott Thompson, Steve Clark and Mike Bardonaro started with me and we are still together. This is their 500th as well!" Amazing. Butler is 4-2 and riding a three-game win streak.

GIRLS: Bay (Bay Village) Lacrosse
The Rockets have opened 6-0 are ranked third in the MaxPreps Ohio High School Computer Rankings. Bay is raked No. 53 nationally. The Rockets have outscored opponents 56-36 and are 4-0 on the road.

Week 33 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


Down 7-3 in the sixth inning, the Pioneers rallied for an 8-7 nine-inning win over Kenton Ridge to remain in first place in the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division. With bases loaded and two-out in the ninth, Alder got the last KR batter to fly out to center to end the game. Two days later, Alder beat KR 6-0 to improve to 7-1.

GIRLS: New Albany Lacrosse
The Eagles picked up a pair of road wins at Westerville South and Olentangy Orange by the combined score of 43-1. New Albany (5-1) is ranked No. 1 overall in Ohio and 33rd nationally in the MaxPreps Lacrosse Computer Rankings.



Week 34 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Dublin Coffman Lacrosse
The Rocks remained unbeaten with wins over Newark, Marysville and Delaware Hayes by the combined score of 70-11. Coffman, ranked No. 17 in the country in the MaxPreps Computer Rankings and No. 1 in Ohio, has outscored foes 194-38 this season.

GIRLS: Mt. Vernon Softball
The Yellow Jackets, ranked No. 1 in the MaxPreps Computer Rankings, debuted at No. I the first Ohio High School  Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association Division I state poll.

BOYS: Bowling Green Baseball
The Bobcats beat Perrysburg 4-3 in a match-up Northern Lakes League unbeatens to remained unblemished overall at 11-0. BG is ranked No. 1 overall regardless of division in Ohio and in the Top 200 team in the country in the MaxPreps Computer Rankings.

GIRLS: Western Brown (Mt. Orab) Softball
The Broncos remained unbeaten and improved to 16-0 with wins over Goshen, Batavia and Wilmington. In their second year as a Division I program, WB is ranked No. 3 overall regardless of division in Ohio and in the Top 125 in the country in the MaxPreps Computer Rankings. The Broncos are No. 3 in the OHSFCA D-I State Poll. WB has outscored foes (145-17).

Week 36 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Fairborn Tennis
The Skyhawks ran their win streak to five and beat Stebbins (4-1), Xenia (3-2) and Trotwood-Madison (3-2) in successive days to claim the program's first-ever Greater Western Ohio Conference South Division title. Fairborn leaves the GWOC after this school year.

GIRLS: Perry Softball
The Pirates rallied from a 4-0 deficit to beat Geneva 9-4 and claim their fourth straight Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division title. Perry has won 47 straight CVC games.

Week 37 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: East Canton Baseball
The Hornets claimed their first league title since 1968 with a 4-1 victory over Malvern that clinched the Inter-Valley Conference North Division championship. Under the direction of veteran head coach Dave Miller, EC has gone 9-19 in 2017, 13-12 in 2018 (the program's first winning season since 2006) and now 13-6. Miller spent 34 seasons at Canton Central Catholic where he won 704 games, three state championships and 13 district titles. East Canton is 10-1 in the IVC North.

GIRLS: Williamsburg Softball
The Wildcats improved to 26-1 with OHSAA Division III tournament wins over Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington and North College Hill. Also wrapped up the regular reason by beating East Clinton for their 51st straight Southern Buckeye Athletic and Academic Conference National Division win. Williamsburg is ranked 7th in the latest MaxPreps D-III Ohio Computer Rankings.

Week 38 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


BOYS: Carroll (Dayton) Track & Field
The Patriots captured their 11th straight Greater Catholic League championship. Carroll scored 175 points. Runner-up Chaminade Julienne scored 79.

Despite winning just five regular season victories, the Astros have put together a three-game postseason win streak and will play Ben Logan in a D-III district final on Friday. The No. 11 seed in its sectional, EC beat No. 5 Reading, No. 3 Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy and No. 15 Clermont Northeastern to advance to the Round of 32.

Week 39 Ohio HS Teams of the Week


Despite entering the Division IV postseason 9-14, the Huntsmen rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat defending regional champion Whiteoak 8-3 and claim the program's first district title. The district's fourth seed, Huntington beat the top two seeds – No. 1 Eastern and No. 2 Whiteoak – to advance to the regional tournament.

The Falcons advanced to their second straight Division II Region 8 final by shutting out Monroe 4-0 in the regional semis. Massie beat Eaton and Hamilton Ross 4-0 and 9-1, respectively, in the district tournament.
