Softball Recap: Lakeland Christian Comes Up Short

Lakeland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 17-7 to the Plant City Raiders.

Paityn Donalson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Emerson Tyler was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Lakeland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Plant City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Lakeland Christian and Plant City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Vikings will square off against Discovery at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (155 vs. 545). Meanwhile, Plant City (ranked 167th) will meet Robinson (ranked 393rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
