Baseball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Skyline's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Alta Hawks on Friday. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Jacob Beesley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Alta, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Skyline will challenge Highland at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.93 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Alta, they will square off against East at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Leopards have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
