Softball Recap: Triton Comes Up Short

Triton extended their losing streak to 11 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-23 in the process. They lost 21-0 to the Winamac Warriors. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Winamac, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-6. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.

For Winamac's part, Adrianna Hall made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Hall has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Winamac got a massive performance out of Corrin Combs, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Combs has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Werner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Triton and Winamac are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Trojans will take on Elkhart Christian Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Winamac, they will square off against Jimtown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
