Softball Preview: Windermere Wolverines vs. Wekiva Mustangs
The Windermere Wolverines will head out to take on the Wekiva Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Windermere has three straight wins, Wekiva has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Windermere and Ocoee meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Wolverines came out on top against the Knights by a score of 6-1.
Lauren Harper made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tessa Olofson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sabrina Boyer, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
