Volleyball Recap: Fuquay - Varina Comes Up Short

Fuquay - Varina lost against Middle Creek back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bengals came up short against the Mustangs, falling 3-0.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Middle Creek scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-22.

Middle Creek found their leader in sophomore Cameron Gerber, who had 13 digs and six assists. Gerber has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Fuquay - Varina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Middle Creek, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fuquay - Varina will take on Apex at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Middle Creek, they will square off against Apex Friendship at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
