Baseball Game Preview: Los Angeles CES Unicorns vs. South Gate Rams

The Los Angeles CES Unicorns will venture away from home to take on the South Gate Rams at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Los Angeles CES made easy work of Hamilton and carried off a 12-5 victory.

The team relied heavily on Eli Stephens, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Los Angeles CES' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-10 when he doesn't). Luke Polizzi was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Los Angeles CES was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Gate). They put the hurt on Huntington Park with a sharp 12-2 win on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win made it two in a row for South Gate and bumps their season record up to 9-16. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Los Angeles CES, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
