Soccer Game Preview: Carthage vs. Springfield Catholic

Carthage is 1-7 against Springfield Catholic since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Tigers will host the Fighting Irish at 6:30 p.m.

Carthage managed to keep up with Webb City until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Tigers came up short against the Cardinals, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Springfield Catholic had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They never let the Pirates get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering Springfield Catholic have won seven matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Carthage's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Springfield Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
