Basketball Game Preview: Governor Mifflin Mustangs vs. Reading Red KNights

Governor Mifflin is 1-9 against Reading since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Governor Mifflin Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Reading Red KNights at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Reading is hoping to do what Lampeter-Strasburg couldn't on Friday: put an end to Governor Mifflin's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Governor Mifflin strolled past Lampeter-Strasburg with points to spare, taking the game 65-47.

Meanwhile, Reading was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 65-61 to Spring-Ford. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (57), the Red KNights still had to take the loss.

Reading dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Governor Mifflin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Governor Mifflin came up short against Reading in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 78-65. Can Governor Mifflin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
