Baseball Recap: Georgetown's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Georgetown's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Loris Lions by a score of 7-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Georgetown got a great performance from Altman Cooper as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. The dominant performance also gave Cooper a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wills Bradham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Alec Wilcox was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Georgetown's win bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Loris, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Georgetown will take on Newberry at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Loris does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
