Football Game Preview: Sylvania Rams vs. Pisgah Eagles

The Sylvania Rams will take on the Pisgah Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Sylvania is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Brindlee Mountain for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-14 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won nine in a row.

A big part of Sylvania's victory came down to the chemistry between Slaytor Waldrop and his top target Nate Battles. Waldrop threw for 92 yards and three TDs while Battles picked up 65 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those three passing touchdowns gave Waldrop a new career-high.

Sylvania was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brindlee Mountain only rushed for 129.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Pisgah's strategy against North Sand Mountain on Friday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bison with a sharp 42-20 win. Pisgah's victory was all the more impressive since the Bison were averaging only 11.56 points allowed on the season.

Sylvania's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Pisgah, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Sylvania came out on top in a nail-biter against Pisgah in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, sneaking past 24-22. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
