Baseball Recap: Shamokin Area Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bloomsburg

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Danville, Shamokin Area was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Bloomsburg Panthers by a score of 9-6. The Indians' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Shamokin Area let Rylan Price and Hayden Karlovich run wild. Price scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Karlovich scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave Price a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Primerano, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Shamokin Area back to even at 2-2. As for Bloomsburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shamokin Area will head out to challenge Selinsgrove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bloomsburg, they will venture away from home to square off against Central Columbia at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
