It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Orangewood Christian had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves 5-3. The win was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on six straight.

Rhys Oldham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Orangewood Christian let Tre Roach and Carson Balls run wild. Roach went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI, while Balls got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run. Those three stolen bases gave Roach a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Lambert, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Orangewood Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.1 runs. As for Saint Francis Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-9.

As of now, neither Orangewood Christian nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
