Towanda proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 15) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over the South Williamsport Mountaineers. That's more bragging rights for the Black Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Boom Thompson was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lucas Vincent, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory got Towanda back to even at 5-5. As for South Williamsport, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Towanda will venture away from home to take on Wyalusing Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Black Knights are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South Williamsport, they will be playing at home against Shikellamy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mountaineers will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: the Braves will have lost three straight heading into Wednesday's game.
