Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Falmouth, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over St. John Paul II on Monday. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
While Falmouth might've won, it sure wasn't easy: St. John Paul II scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 25-19.
Notre Dame Academy better focus on containing Maia Ledwell and Bella Eulo as the pair were huge in Falmouth's win. Ledwell had 19 digs and four aces, while Eulo had six digs and three aces. That's the most digs Ledwell has posted over her last seven matchups.
Falmouth was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 15 aces in three consecutive contests.
Notre Dame Academy's record now sits at 8-2. As for Falmouth, their record is now 5-6.
Notre Dame Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Falmouth in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
