Recap: Toll Gate Titans vs. Lincoln School Lynx
On Tuesday, the Toll Gate Titans faced the Lincoln School Lynx in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Toll Gate had just enough and edged Lincoln School out 40-38. The victory was familiar territory for Toll Gate who now have four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Lincoln School saw an underclassman step up: Sarah Berube scored 20 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 52.6% of Lincoln School's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Reign Whiteing, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Toll Gate's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. As for Lincoln School, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Toll Gate will be playing at home against Exeter-West Greenwich at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Exeter-West Greenwich is ranked seventh, while Toll Gate is ranked 17th). As for Lincoln School, they will head out on the road to face off against Burrillville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
