Why it's big: No. 21 La Salle beat Moeller last season but still has only three wins total against its Greater Catholic League South rival since 2004.

A loss Friday would virtually eliminate Moeller (2-3) from the GCLS title chase. The Crusaders were beaten by St. Xavier in last week's league opener, 14-10.



This is the first league contest of the year for La Salle (5-0), which is ranked No. 1 in the state Division II poll. The Lancers entered the Xcellent 25 after a 39-36 win against Colerain (Cincinnati) on Sept. 11.

Names to watch: Moeller tight end Jake Hausmann ranks fourth in the GCLS in receiving yardage (258) and is second in receiving touchdowns (4). The Ohio State recruit is 247Sports' top-rated tight end in the Class of 2016.

La Salle senior Jeremy Larkin is well on his way to leading the GCLS in rushing for the second-straight year. The three-star Cincinnati commit has 739 yards this season with 10 touchdowns and a 12.1 yards-per-carry average.
