Recap: Rutherford Rams vs. Bay Tornadoes
The Rutherford Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 29 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Bay 70-37 at home. This was payback for Rutherford, who suffered a 71-54 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Rutherford's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylin Mears, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Eric Bland, who scored 18 points.
Rutherford's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points per game. As for Bay, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Rutherford will head out on the road to face off against Arnold at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bay, they will be playing at home against Destin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
