Soccer Recap: Lathrop Comes Up Short

Lathrop lost against Central Valley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lathrop Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Valley Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 412th, while the Hawks are ranked 116th).

Lathrop's loss dropped their record down to 9-8-4. As for Central Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6-6 record this season.

Lathrop didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Beyer on the 11th. As for Central Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Ceres on the 11th.
