Preview: De La Salle Meteors vs. Niles Notre Dame Dons
De La Salle has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. After each having a week off, the De La Salle Meteors and The Niles Notre Dame Dons will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Niles Notre Dame took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on De La Salle, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, De La Salle strolled past DePaul College Prep with points to spare, taking the game 34-20. The win was just what De La Salle needed coming off of a 55-20 defeat in their prior matchup.
De La Salle found their leader in underclassman Kenyonte Louis, who rushed for 232 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 113 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was David Coffey, who rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Niles Notre Dame's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marist.
De La Salle's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Niles Notre Dame, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
