Baseball Recap: Archbishop Shaw Find Success

After losing to Belle Chasse the last time they met, Archbishop Shaw decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles walked away with a 6-3 win over the Cardinals on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Dalton Davidson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Archbishop Shaw is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 11-15 otherwise. Davidson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Davidson wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Fernando Arboleda, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Arboleda a new career-high.

Archbishop Shaw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Archbishop Shaw's victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Belle Chasse, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.
