Baseball Game Preview: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. JW North Huskies

For the second straight game, Moreno Valley will face off against JW North. The Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Huskies at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Moreno Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so JW North's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Moreno Valley barely beat JW North the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings blew past the Huskies 10-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Vikings have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

E. Zendejas was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was D. McCauley, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Moreno Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Moreno Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for JW North, they dropped their record down to 2-11-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Moreno Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like JW North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
