Basketball Recap: Stratford Knights vs. Timberland Wolves
Stratford was the 57-43 winner over Timberland when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Stratford Knights were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 64-63 to the Timberland Wolves. The Knights' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Stratford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Herman Smith posted 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Peterson, who had 13 points and five rebounds.
Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Timberland, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6.
