Basketball Recap: West Morris Central Comes Up Short

West Morris Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson Township Falcons. If the Wolfpack were looking for revenge after losing 53-32 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jefferson Township was led to victory by Emma Barone and Kiley Shatzel. Barone went 6-for-10 on her way to 17 points and four steals, while Shatzel dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Barone continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kailey Strauch, who posted nine points.

West Morris Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Jefferson Township, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

West Morris Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jefferson Township, they are taking a road trip to take on West Morris Mendham at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
