Baseball Recap: Clinton County Bulldogs vs. York Institute Dragons
Clinton County had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 13-11 to make it four. They fell 6-3 to the York Institute Dragons. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.
Clinton County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chaston Poore, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
As for York Institute, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.
On York Institute's side, Matthew Luther was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Luther has posted since back in March. Sullivan Harris was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Clinton County will face off against McCreary Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for York Institute, they will square off against Livingston Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
