Volleyball Recap: Allen's Winning Streak Snapped at Ten Games

It was a good run, but Allen unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Highland Park Scots. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Eagles haven't been shut out since back in September.

Allen took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 29-27.

Loss or not, Allen got some senior leadership from Campbell Sheffield and Emily Capangpangan. Sheffield had 15 digs, while Capangpangan had 19 assists and seven digs. Capangpangan is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 19 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Allen's defeat dropped their record down to 35-6. As for Highland Park, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 37-8.

Allen didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Coppell on the 30th. As for Highland Park, they will square off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
