Softball Recap: New Deal Takes a Loss

New Deal managed to slip by Hale Center the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The New Deal Lions lost 22-6 to the Hale Center Owls on Monday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cheyenne Casarez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmynn Hernandez, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

New Deal has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. Hale Center's record is now 12-5.

While New Deal had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
