Preview: Riverview Pirates vs. Huron Chiefs
Riverview is 10-0 against Huron since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Riverview Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huron Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. Riverview will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Last Thursday, Riverview strolled past Milan with points to spare, taking the game 48-34. Given Riverview's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Milan is ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riverview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Poe, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Kate Patterson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Huron came up short against Flat Rock on Friday and fell 55-46. Huron has not had much luck with Flat Rock recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Riverview is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Huron, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Riverview strolled past Huron in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 62-48. Will Riverview repeat their success, or does Huron have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
