The Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals are taking a road trip to take on the Clinton Dragons at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Eagleton College & Career Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Eagleton College & Career Academy had just enough and edged out Tellico Plains 12-11. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Willard King, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Lane Cope was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

King wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Eagleton College & Career Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tellico Plains only managed six hits.

Meanwhile, Clinton can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Austin-East 10-0. The Dragons not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Eagleton College & Career Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-1-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Clinton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
