Basketball Game Preview: Villanova Prep Wildcats vs. Cate Rams

Villanova Prep hasn't had much luck against Cate recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Villanova Prep Wildcats will look to defend their home court against the Cate Rams at 7:00 p.m.

Villanova Prep came up into this matchup off a tough 52-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Grace by a score of 44-42 on Wednesday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Carlos Maida, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hunter Comden, who posted nine points along with five boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Cate entered their tilt with Bishop Diego on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They skirted past the Cardinals 58-56. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly two points.

Cate's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Villanova Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
