Recap: High Point Eagles vs. Laurel Spartans
The High Point Eagles pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-57 to Laurel. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for High Point in their matchups with Laurel: they've now lost three in a row.
Loss or not, High Point got some senior leadership from Ibrahim Turay who scored 24 points along with 4 steals and Kadan Solomonraj who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. Solomonraj scored a full 35.1% of High Point's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Habeeb Soewu was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
High Point's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Laurel, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
High Point will head out on the road to face off against Parkdale at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laurel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bladensburg at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
