Softball Preview: Boiling Springs Bubblers vs. Waynesboro Indians

Boiling Springs is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will look to defend their home field against the Waynesboro Indians at 4:30 p.m. Boiling Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.4 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Boiling Springs made easy work of Muhlenberg and carried off a 20-3 victory. The Bubblers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 12 runs or more this season.

Delaney Lawyer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Peyton Lawyer was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Gabrielle Vonstein was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Boiling Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Muhlenberg only posted an OBP of .294.

Meanwhile, Waynesboro came up short against Carlisle on Friday and fell 8-4. The loss put an end to the Indians' undefeated start to the season.
