Recap: Academic Magnet Raptors vs. Timberland Wolves
The Academic Magnet Raptors suffered their biggest loss since December 29, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 67-42 loss to Timberland might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Academic Magnet in their matchups with Timberland: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Raptors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Holly Manning, who scored 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Brauchle, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Timberland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was China Greene out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Greene hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Zion Prioleau was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight assists and four steals.
Academic Magnet has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Timberland, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academic Magnet will take on Ashley Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timberland, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Lake Marion at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. Lake Marion is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
