Volleyball Recap: Miami-Yoder Takes a Loss

If Miami-Yoder was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Manzanola on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Buffaloes came up short against the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Buffaloes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-11, 25-15.

Miami-Yoder's offense was headlined by Mindy Quintana and Madison Kragel, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Joanna Cabrera and her five assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Evangel Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Bailey Roberts, who had eight digs.

Miami-Yoder has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Evangel Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Miami-Yoder will venture away from home to challenge Deer Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they will head out to take on Belleview Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
