Basketball Recap: Payette Takes a Loss

Payette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-35 loss at the hands of the Weiser Wolverines. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-19.

Payette's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Weiser, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Payette will face off against Fruitland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Weiser, they will square off against McCall-Donnelly at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Weiser knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully McCall-Donnelly likes a good challenge.
