Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Timarian Howard and Gilbert Charles Lead Immokalee to Victory

Immokalee picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They managed a 61-56 win over The Village School of Naples Knights. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Knights are ranked 694th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Immokalee was led to victory by Gilbert Charles and Timarian Howard. Charles posted 19 points, while Howard went 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Howard's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jose Marquez was another key player, putting up eight points.

Immokalee is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for The Village School of Naples, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Immokalee will welcome Naples at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Immokalee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season. As for The Village School of Naples, they will square off against Everglades City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
