Volleyball Recap: South Tahoe Vikings vs. Truckee Wolverines

After flying high against Debbie Smith CTE Academy on Wednesday, South Tahoe came back down to earth. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Truckee Wolverines on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 25-22.

Viviana Wilson paced South Tahoe's offense, picking up 12 kills. Wilson got some help from Camdyn Maliska and her 16 assists. Maliska was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Truckee had a senior duo take command as Grayson Martin had 14 digs and Zoe Jackson had 13 digs. With that strong performance, Jackson is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

South Tahoe's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-12. As for Truckee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

South Tahoe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Incline on the 1st. As for Truckee, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Woodland on the 27th.
