Softball Game Preview: Toll Gate Titans vs. Barrington Eagles

Toll Gate is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will square off against the Barrington Eagles at 5:00 p.m.

Toll Gate is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ponaganset.

Toll Gate saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delaney Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Barrington took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on Davies Career & Tech with a sharp 13-1 victory.

Kendall Fisher (2025) made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Fisher (2025) was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Barrington let Ariana Renzi (2025) and Ruby Ciummo (2025) run wild. Renzi (2025) went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Ciummo (2025) went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Grace Fontaine was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Barrington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davies Career & Tech only posted an OBP of .375.

Toll Gate took their win against Barrington when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
