Basketball Recap: Diego Castillo Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Horizon

Parkland won the last time they faced Horizon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Parkland Matadors managed a 41-35 win over the Horizon Scorpions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Matadors.

Parkland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Diego Castillo out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyresse Wallace, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Parkland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in ten consecutive matches.

Parkland's win bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Horizon, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hanks the next time they take the court. Horizon will host Hanks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Parkland will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
