Basketball Game Preview: Seton Catholic Central Knights vs. Lake Placid Bombers

The Seton Catholic Central Knights will take on the Lake Placid Bombers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seton Catholic Central's defense has only allowed 25.7 points per game this season, so Lake Placid's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Tuesday, everything went Seton Catholic Central's way against Keene Central as Seton Catholic Central made off with a 40-17 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Seton Catholic Central found their leader in sophomore Dayline Willette, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Willette a new career-high in assists (three). Grace Trombley was another key player, going 6 for 14 en route to 13 points and eight boards.

Seton Catholic Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Placid). They managed a 45-41 victory over Willsboro Central on Tuesday.

Lake Placid had a senior duo take command as Anisa Cecunjanin posted 18 points and Abbey Light scored 15 points.

Seton Catholic Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.5 points per game. As for Lake Placid, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9.

Seton Catholic Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Placid when the teams last played on January 3rd, winning 32-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seton Catholic Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
