Baseball Game Preview: Mount Tabor Spartans vs. Reagan Raiders

Mount Tabor hasn't had much luck against Reagan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mount Tabor Spartans will be playing at home against the Reagan Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Mount Tabor will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Mount Tabor turned things around against Oak Grove on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 14-4 win. The Spartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

James Price made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Julius Vaughn was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Jah'Quez Braboy was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four games, Reagan finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell just short of New Hanover by a score of 4-2. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The loss snapped Reagan's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-2 record. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Mount Tabor, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
