Softball Game Preview: Moore Mustangs vs. Cornerstone Christian Academy Bulldogs

The Moore Mustangs will face off against the Cornerstone Christian Academy Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Moore has given up an average of 18.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Moore is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Brown, falling 26-4.

Moore saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Whittaker, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Aubrianna Griffin was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian Academy had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out North Hardin Christian 11-10 on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bulldogs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Alexis Cyphert was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She also got a hit, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Petrey, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Moore's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
