Softball Recap: McDowell Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for McDowell's offense. They fell just short of the State College Little Lions by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Gabriella Deluca was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over 7.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple.

McDowell's loss dropped their record down to 19-4. As for State College, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-8.

As of now, neither McDowell nor the Little Lions have any future games scheduled.
