Softball Recap: Broadway Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

Broadway never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against the East Rockingham Eagles by a score of 5-0. The Gobblers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Broadway pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Rockingham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broadway will face off against William Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.53 runs per game on average), something the Gobblers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Rockingham, they will take on Turner Ashby at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
