Basketball Recap: Nathan Hale Comes Up Short

Nathan Hale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They took a blow against the Garfield Bulldogs, falling 78-38. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Bulldogs are ranked second).

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shale Smith, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Michael Coleman-Dorsey, who put up eight points.

Nathan Hale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Garfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Nathan Hale has already played their next match, an 83-64 loss against Eastside Catholic on the 27th. As for Garfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-64 defeat against Rainier Beach on the 27th.
