 If Dixon was riding high  off their  21-0 takedown of Woodland last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dixon Rams fell just short of the Vacaville Bulldogs by a score of  2-1 on Wednesday. The  loss   continues a  trend for Dixon in their matchups with Vacaville: they've now lost three in a row.
  Felesha LePenske put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits (and only one walk). LePenske has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances. LePenske was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-3 with a  double.
 LePenske wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Aemonn Rosenberger, who  went 1-for-3 with  an  RBI.
 On Vacaville's side,  Xochitl Atayde spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
 Dixon's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Vacaville, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won ten of their last 12 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record  this season.
 Dixon will head out on the road to  face off against  Mira Loma at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Dixon is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Vacaville, they will be playing at home against Fairfield at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Vacaville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
