Creighton Prep pushed their score to eight the last time they played Papillion-LaVista South, but on Monday they couldn't quite do it again. Creighton Prep had just enough and edged out Papillion-LaVista South 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Junior Jays have posted against the Titans since April 15, 2022.

Creighton Prep got a great performance from Quinn Peterson as he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Creighton Prep's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cal Anthony, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was Charlie Ziola, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Creighton Prep's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Papillion-LaVista South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creighton Prep will challenge Lincoln North Star at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Lincoln North Star has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Fremont at 4:30 p.m.
